The Union of Pastry Making Industries and Cottage Industries of Greece was founded during the year 1932. It consists of Industries and cottage Industries that their object is the production and selling of products mainly composed of sugar such as chocolate, caramel, sugar almonds, candied fruits, halvah, traditional sweets with syrup, etc.
It is activated towards its members' benefit, regardless of partisan measures. It makes sure that its members are informed in time about current matters regarding industry, taxation, employment etc., keeps up with their progress and interferes effectively, when needed, to the suitable ministries and other government conveyors.
Furthermore, the Union of Pastry Making Industries and cottage Industries is a member of the General Council of Greek Industries Association with registration number 561/08-03-90 and at the same time collaborates with the Camber of Industry and cottage Industry of Athens and Piraeus.
It is an active participant in negotiations of the Collective Agreement of Occupation for pastry products, which is signed by the President of the Board of Directors.
Finally, one of its last achievements, with significant importance, is the writing of the "Manual of Hygiene for Pastry Products" that refers to the products' process, the storage of raw materials and end products and their distribution, which is on its way to the approval of the National Conveyor of Examination Foods.
